When you are done  running there needs to be blood on some part of your body, your knee or your elbow is good and a bit of trail grit in the wound makes it look even more hard core.

Cobwebs in your hair is convincing and if you can stand it, even the resident spider.

Your tackies should not be clean.   They should be wet, muddy and a bit banged up.  The dirtier your tackies the harder your run.

The bottom of your legs should also be covered in mud and this should show especially when you take off your shoes and socks and there is a definite line between clean ish feet and filthy legs.

And in the spirit of fake it until you make it a big muddy puddle just before the end and a bit of tomato sauce could really help you save face.

Happy Trail Running All.
